Head Sports Performance Trainer

Ryan Lotito- rlotito@edgesahc.com 

   Ryan Lotito graduated from Susan Wagner High School of excellence in Staten Island, NY. He majored in psychology at the City University of New York; College of Staten Island were he was team captain 3 of 4 years. He was the starting center fielder and closer for the Nassau Collegians of the Atlantic Colligate Baseball League (ACBL)… 1999 MLB prospect following best of four outstanding seasons at the City University of New York (CSI). Lotito Batted .406 during his college career, set school records with 53 runs and 130 at-bats, .525 on base percentage, led the dolphins in six offensive categories.
   Ryan was selected to the City University of New York Athletic Conference and Skyline Conference All-Star Teams 4 years in a row, While helping his team win 3 City University of New York Championships that were played at Yankee Stadium and Shea Stadium. He was also voted to the Chowan Invitational All-Tournament Team in North Carolina. Ryan gained interest from New York Mets, Texas Rangers, Detroit Tigers and several Independent Teams. He played two years of professional baseball and due to injury chose to go the Performance Enhancement Specialist route. He has over 9 years of baseball instruction experience focused on the development of kids of all ages specializing in all aspects of the game; Pitching, Fielding, Batting and Mental Preparation. Ryan is also a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and will be receiving a Performance Enhancement Specialist Certification in Febuary 07.

Russell E. Anderson - randerson@edgesahc.com

     B.S. Marketing/M.A. Corporate & Public Communication - Monmouth University, NSCA-CSCS, NASM Certified Personal Trainer - Russell has been a fitness professional for three years.  As a student athlete at Monmouth, Russell helped the Hawks win two Northeast Conference Baseketball Championships, which earned him two appearances in the NCAA Tournament. 

     After recently completing a six month 2,174 mile trek on the Appalachian Trail, Russell is excited to now have the opportunity to work for The Edge and assist its' members in reaching their health and wellness needs and goals.


Lauren Grandinetti - lgrandinetti@edgesahc.com

     B.S. Exercise Science - Kent State University.  Lauren was All-Shore and All-State Field Hockey at Shore Regional before continuing on to Kent State, where she was a 4 year varsity player, including 4 MAC Championships and appearing in the NCAA Tournament 3 times.

     Lauren has worked with all sports and understands what it takes to get clients to the next level!  She brings passion and experience working with athletes from all walks of life.  She is dedicated to using her education and background in both playing and coaching athletes here at The Edge!


Baseball & Softball Coordinator

Gary Costello - gcostello@edgesahc.com 

   Coach Costello has over 13 years of experience coaching and teaching all aspects of the game of baseball. His teaching style is focused on mastering the fundamentals, mental preparation and discipline. His ability to motivate players to achieve optimum performance is measured by the many players who have gone on to play at the high school and collegiate level. Coach Costello is currently an assistant varsity baseball coach at Rumson-Fair Haven high school. His coaching resume also includes coaching teams in the JSFBL, a college showcase league for the player aspiring to continue his baseball career after high school, along with many local and out of state tournaments. He has also worked as an instructor for a number of local camps and clinics including Monmouth University and KJSA.

  Gary has over 9 years of experience as an administrator. He currently is the lead coordinator for the local Beach Blast Memorial Day and July 4th baseball tournaments. He is also President of the Jersey Shore Thunder baseball/softball organization, where he continues to coach and teach the younger players the importance of having fun while learning the game of baseball. The Thunder organization currently has baseball and softball teams ranging in age from 10U to 17/18U.

Mark Mondi

   Mark attended Long Island University on a full baseball scholarship. He played four years of professional baseball and also played in the Western and Frontier baseball leagues. He coached during college under the legendary Pete Alborano at Brooklyn College. He has over 10 years of teaching in all aspects of the game to kids of all ages. He has a Masters Degree from Cambridge College.

Ralph Tropiano

   Ralph is currently a 2nd Baseman in the Baltimore Orioles organization.  At St. Peters Prep, Ralph earned Daily News and Newsday All-Star Selections and played in the East-West All-Star Game, Staten Island.  While attending Braircliffe Junior College, Ralph was an Academic and Baseball All-American.  He went on to Adelphi University, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. 
   Besides having great success at all levels of baseball, Ralph brings tremendous passion and love for the game, along with being a talented instructor for hitting and infield.  With his experience at the collegiate and professional level, athletes from all levels will gain knowledge on how to better their game.


Jim Vosk  

  Jim is a former Boston Red Sox pitcher who was successful at every professional level & a member of the 1977 Major League Roster. A highly sought after High School prospect, Jim turned down many scholarship offers to become the Boston Red Sox first pitcher drafted as the 3rd Rd. pick & first N.J. player selected in the 1971 MLB Draft. Jim set several team & league records during his career & pitched on Boston’s 1977 AAA International Championship Team at Pawtucket.
   As a pitching coach for over 20 years, Jim learned the importance of sound pitching fundamentals and strategies from some of the best coaches in Major League Baseball. He has the training and experience to help develop young pitchers to perform to the best of their abilities. His keen eye, patience, and positive teaching style help students and coach develop a great rapport that leads to a constructive learning environment. Jim is keenly aware of the communication strategies necessary to assist players of differing ages and abilities to reach their full potential.

Softball Instructors

Meaghan Hennessy - mhennessy@edgesahc.com

     Meaghan brings an incredible amount of playing experience to The Edge!  She currently is a pitcher for the Philadelphia Force, along with Coaching High School Softball.  She is a former two-time All State player from Freehold, as well as two time All-American and Lehigh Valley Female Athlete of the Year!  Meaghan is able to teach any age or ability group in hitting, fielding and pitching and is eager to help you improve your game!  Please call The Edge to schedule an appointment with her!

Alexis Petite - apetite@edgesahc.com

     Alexis, originally from Essex County, comes to The Edge with a wealth of softball experience from both playing and coaching.  She most recently coached at the varsity high school level in Pennsylvania and is now continuing her softball career as a coach and mentor, offering elite training here at Edge.

     A New Jersey high school All-Conference, All-Essex County, All-State pitcher, Alexis continued playing at Wilkes University as a third baseman and right fielder.  While at Wilkes, she was selected to the 2005 Louisville Slugger/National Fast Pitch Coaches Association All-East Region First Team; set single season school records in her senior year for most at bats, homeruns, and RBI's; and made the Academic MAC Honor Roll three of three times.  She spent her summers playing 80+ games each year with the Livingston, NJ Lightning, where she was part of the F.A.S.T. National Championship Tournament five consecutive years.

     Having instructed players from ages 7-18, Alexis believes in developing muscle memory through perfect practice and also teaching and stressing the mental aspects of the game.  Her passion for softball, strong work ethic and positive point of view are contagious, while still making every lesson a fun learning experience for all levels of players.
